The Navy Yard in Philadelphia is a thriving redevelopment of a historic military facility. This is scenic area is home to many businesses. The Navy Yard website was created to promote this exciting place and attract potential real-estate investors. I worked on the design and coding of the site.
In addition, I created an interactive map to showcase all of the real-estate in the area. This included coding of the database back-end, as well as all of the graphic design, programming, and interactive animation for the front-end. I also created the illustration of the entire area used as the map.
Potential customers could use the map to easily see the properties available, view photos of the property, and get other important information.
Timberane specializes in custom wood shutters and hardware. I worked on developing the website, including building out pages and creating a clean, elegant shopping cart front-end. Great care was taken to maintain the brand's sophisticated aesthetic in every page and detail of the site.
I also created an interactive shutter designer, that allowed customers to easily visualize what their home would look like with Timberlane shutters.
Visitors could choose common home types, colors, and different shutter styles. At the end the chosen styles could be sent to their cart for easy purchase!
PICPA wanted a fun way to get children excited about accounting. The CPA Career Adventure used a treasure map metaphor to guide students through the accounting curriculum.
A password protected admin area was created just for teachers, with extended information and lesson plans.
I did most of the design work and all of the programming.
A special feature of this project was the inclusion of 8 completely custom interactive games. Each game was fast paced and arcade-style, and each had a different adventure theme (river, cave, volcano, and more)!
I did all design, coding, interactive animation, and some illustration for the games.
Calvert School is a private school located in Baltimore, MD. I helped design and build the site, including managing and organizing a lot of content and implementing a site-wide search feature.
I also created and coded the school calendar, including the back-end management system. The calendar allowed easy filtering of events, clubs, and lunch menu. Categories were mapped to colors for easy information digestibility.
Going to the hospital is scary for everyone, but for a child it can be downright terrifying!
I helped create a fun, interactive walkthrough of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children to help prepare and inform new patients. Guided by friendly animals, children are able to explore the different rooms and objects they will encounter during their stay. I assisted with the illustration and created all of the animation and interactivity.
It was very rewarding to know I helped to ease the journey for these children, if only just a little!
